Centro Legal De la Raza – A Legal Service for People of Hispanic Descent
Founded in 1969 in the San Francisco area by Latino students and found in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, Centro Legal De la Raza is extensive legal services firm dedicated to the protection and advancement of civil rights through bilingual legal assistance, education and training, and community outreach. Centro’s mission is to “provide quality legal services to communities in the United States.”
Centro has been instrumental in providing a legal aid service to people of the Hispanic descent and other immigrant groups for over thirty years. Centro works closely with the United States Department of Justice to assist those who may be facing discrimination in areas such as housing, employment, immigration, educational opportunities, access to health care, or credit.
